Biography
Jake Pearlman joined Cavignac as a Risk Advisor after beginning his career on the wholesale side of the insurance industry with Risk Placement Services (RPS), a division of Gallagher. There, he specialized in complex commercial property placements, working with retail brokers across the country to structure solutions for real estate portfolios, habitational risks, and catastrophe-exposed properties. This foundation provided Jake with a deep understanding of coverage design, market dynamics, and how to navigate challenging insurance environments.
At Cavignac, Jake focuses on advising clients in the real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, and construction industries. Jake is committed to continuous professional development and is actively pursuing industry designations to further deepen his technical expertise. He has earned his Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) and Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). He takes pride in building strong, long-term relationships and serving as a trusted advisor to his clients and partners.
Born and raised in San Diego, Jake graduated from Indiana University after studying Finance at the Kelley School of Business. Jake enjoys staying active outside of work through golf, skiing, fitness, and spending time with friends and family.
Matthew Slakoff
Biography
Prior to joining Cavignac in 2006, Matt spent six years as a commercial underwriter learning about the industry from the ground up. This technical expertise combined with his many years as a Risk Advisor at Cavignac has served as the foundation for his unrelenting advocacy on behalf of Cavignac’s clients, people, and purpose.
Matt specializes in the design and implementation of risk management programs for clients in the real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, and construction industries. He also developed an expertise in the analysis and placement of environmental insurance and alternative risk transfer (captives).
Matt is an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Building Owners, and Lambda Alpha International (LAI).
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Matt graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1997 after studying Communications and Business Economics. Today, he lives with his family in Point Loma.
