AB 685 is a new California law effective January 1, 2021, requiring employers to notify workers amongst others of potential exposure in the workplace and report outbreaks to the local health agency. The law also expands Cal/OSHA’s power to enforce this regulation and act to protect workers, such as shutting down worksites considered an “imminent hazard” due to COVID-19 concerns.
Our third Educate and Protect Video Podcast provides an overview of the bill and highlights the specifics required in the notice, who must be informed, and the time frame. You will also learn when to report to the local health agency and Cal/OSHA enforcement.
