Support Your Local Business – Candor

These are trying times as many industries are being affected by CV19. The restaurant industry is no exception.

We would like to take this time to support our local restaurants and promote their ability to offer takeout food to their community.

In an effort to support local businesses, we will be covering the cost of one meal a week (over the next four weeks) for each of our team members to use at their favorite restaurant.

This is a part of our new “Support your Local Business” campaign to raise awareness and help advertise those businesses who have been drastically affected by the shutdown.

We will also be highlighting a few of our teams favorite businesses during this time.

This week features Candor.

Candor is the brainchild of one of San Diego’s most established chef/restaurateurs, Giuseppe Ciuffa, founder of Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering. Focusing on honest and straightforward cooking, as the restaurant’s name suggests, Candor draws inspiration from Giuseppe’s Italian roots. Having grown up cooking with his mother on the family’s farm outside of Rome, his palate was primed at young age, shaped by a wealth of culinary opportunities from farms and vineyards, to local cheese and fish from coastal villages.

With an everything-made-in-house credo at Candor, Giuseppe sources from San Diego’s local farmers and fishermen, with a bulk of products coming direct from the La Jolla Open Aire Farmer’s Market located down the street. Located in the heart of La Jolla, Candor is a gathering place and includes a convivial neighborhood wine bar in addition to an extensive menu which plays favorites to producers from France, Spain and Italy as well as West Coast winemakers throughout California, Oregon and Washington.

Giuseppe is also the founder and owner of Giuseppe Fine Catering, he also runs Caroline’s Seaside Café (the best oceanfront café you never knew was there, on the beach just north of Scripps Pier) and La Sede, an event space for dinner pop-ups and private events.

With Mother’s Day coming up, they’ve created a special menu… You can check it out and learn more about this great restaurant here.
